HAZOP study
HAZOP review required to assess the hazard potential of mal-operation or malfunction of equipment and the consequent effects on the facility. It attempts to identify how a process may deviate from the design intent.
The HAZOP review covers normal operation of systems within the plant, as well as operability aspects (including start-up, shut-down and maintenance as general guide words) of each system.
Hazop review considers in detail the following aspects
- Explosion protection
- Flammable and/or combustible distribution
- Flammable and/or combustible storage
- Ignition source control
- Overpressure protection
- Sizing and calculations of MAP and MAV
- Vacuum protection
- Venting
- Vessel in-breathing
